Newgrange and Knowth Neolithic tombs

Today we drove from Dublin to Bushmills in Northern Ireland, stopping at the restored Neolithic sites at Knowth and Newgrange. We got to go inside the tomb at Newgrange, which was constructed and oriented so the the sunlight at dawn on the winter solstice shines through an entryway into the central chamber, casting a magical and wondrous light. We didn't witness that today obviously but it was still very cool.

We had some challenges getting our rental car, which delayed us in getting out of Dublin by over 2 hours. It worked out in the end and we'll visit Giant's Causeway and Bushmills distillery tomorrow on our way to Donegal.
